The game goes on - I can still hear the poor Rock Raiders mining - but I cannot see or operate it, the screen is frozen including the cursor.
However, now at some point while playing the screen just freezes. Since I have Windows 10 64bit it was quite an accomplishment to get it installed and even running, but using the internet (link in the comments) I managed. So recently I have decided that I wanted to play LEGO Rock Raiders again, since my brother and I loved that game growing up.
